Physically clearing baby's runny nose provides instant relief to help them feed and sleep more easily. This award winning Baby nose-clear nasal aspirator includes a hygienic storage case and spare reusable filter. It will last as long as your baby needs it and will be on hand during the numerous colds he is likely to get in his first year. Paediatric advice is to suction baby's runny nose before a feed and before bed. Physically removing excess nasal mucus helps prevent secondary symptoms such as ear infection, coughs and stomach upsets.
Research has shown that the most effective way to clear a baby's runny or blocked nose is suction with a Nasal Aspirator (snot sucker!). The Baby nose-clear nasal aspirator is best in class using controlled effective mouth suction with a reusable protective filter and is Paediatrician endorsed as safe from birth.
When your baby’s nose is full of snot she finds it very difficult to feed which can make feeding very stressful, upsetting your routine. The most likely reason for a baby crying when feeding is due to a blocked nose. It can be especially difficult when breastfeeding as a congested baby can have real problems latching on. Paediatrician recommendation is to simply clear your baby’s nasal congestion before a feed with a nasal aspirator to allow them to feed more easily.
The Baby nose-clear snotsucker was invented by a mother of pre-term triplets and it is completely safe for newborns and still effective with toddlers. It is an excellent, drug free, infant cough / cold decongestant for your baby. It is much more effective than cheaper "bulb style" aspirators and we receive tremendous positive feedback from mothers and health professionals.
Once the nose is clear it is helpful to use the Baby nose-clear Room Vapour in baby's room. This is safe from birth and help keeps their nose clearer for longer to help sleep. From 3 months our Organic Massage Oil helps decongest and relax baby ready for bed. All three can be purchased together in the Baby Blocked Nose Remedy Pack with 15% discount.
How to use
Wash before first use by opening the chamber and washing in warm soapy water. Ensure that the filter is completely dry before use. It may be helpful to blow through it to clear water.
Place the nozzle at the entance of baby’s nostril (not inside) targeting visiable runny /sticky mucus and suck through the mouthpiece. The snot will collect in the sealed chamber which is hygienically protected by a filter to prevent any chance of suck back.
If babies nasal mucus is runny or tacky it will suck right up! If very dry it is helpful to use saline drops to soften the mucus and then use the snotsucker.
Before using it on your baby it may be helpful to familiarize yourself with its use and how much suction you may need to suck snot effectively. We recommend that by taking some mayonnaise or yogurt and gently sucking, you can determine how much suction will be required. This will give you confidence to know that it is completely safe and you cannot oversuck or cause your baby any harm.
Cleaning
Baby nose-clear is non-invasive and does not need to be sterilised, unless it is being used by more than one infant, in which case it should be sterilised between infants by your chosen method. You can use chemical sterilizing tablets and solutions in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The aspirator can be steam sterilised, but the filter cannot and will shrink.
FAQs
Q: At what age can I introduce the Baby nose-clear nasal aspirator?
A: The great news is you can use it with confidence from birth in the knowledge that it has been recommended – and can even be prescribed – by doctors.
Q: When is the best time to use it?
A: It’s a good idea to use it before a feed or before bedtime but any time you see your baby has a really snotty nose is a good time!
Q: I’m scared some of my baby’s snots will end up in my mouth and I wouldn’t be able to cope.
A: Don’t worry. The unique re-usable filter means there is no way any of baby's runny mucus can transfer from your baby’s nose to you. It is all held in the aspirator’s chamber which can be easily cleaned out and washed along with the filter, before you re-assemble it for the next time.
Q: How far do I put the end of the aspirator into my baby’s nose?
A: You don’t put it in at all, that’s the beauty of it and one of the reasons why your baby will be undeterred when you use it. Just put it under each nostril in turn and suck. You control the suction so you can’t make a mistake. For further reassurance be sure to watch our videos.
Q: My baby has a blocked nose but I can't see any mucus, will the Snotsucker still work?
A: To use the Baby nose-clear snotsucker you need to target visible mucous at the entrance of the babies nostril. If you can't see the congestion it is much higher up and the aspirator wont work. The best product at this stage of your baby's cold is the Baby nose-clear Room Vapour as this contains naturally decongesting essential oils and helps clear the airway - safely from birth.
Q: Do I have to sterilise the aspirator?
A: No, there is no need as it is non-invasive. Just wash in warm soapy water and allow to dry or wipe with clean kitchen paper. The filter should be dry before next use but if you need to use it in a hurry, then a blast from a hairdryer may do the trick. Although the filter is reusable, you can buy spare filters on our website.
Q: What about saline drops?
A: The aspirator is a better bet because your baby may not like having the drops put up his nose. But if your baby’s nose is all dry and crusty, then using drops may soften the mucus and allow you to have a better result. You can buy saline drops over the counter at the chemist.
Q: Can I use the room vapour in conjunction with the aspirator?
A: Yes. The room vapour can help keep baby’s nasal passages clearer for longer and may allow baby a better night’s sleep.
Q: Can my baby take medicine at the same time as using the room vapour and the aspirator?
A: Yes. That is perfectly acceptable. And if you want an easy way of giving your little one his medicine, try our special medicine dummy with its unique plunger to ensure the right dose goes into the baby and not all over you when baby turns his head away at the last minute!
Q: How long can I use the nasal aspirator for?
There is nothing to say you have to stop using Baby nose-clear by a certain age as it’s entirely safe and non-intrusive. The only barrier may be your child! By around the age of two, he should be able to blow his nose all by himself – though we don’t know any toddlers who enjoy doing this! And since a two year-old is a proper little person quite capable of running away as you approach with the aspirator, you may have quite a challenge on your hands. If your little one understands that Baby nose-clear is going to make him feel a whole lot better, he may very well see your snot-sucking kit as a magic trick. Good luck!
Q: Can I suck too hard?
Absolutely not. You are in complete control of the aspirator and will be able to gauge how hard or how gently to suck for good results. Don’t worry … you can’t hurt your little one with it and all the gunge from his nose will be safely contained in the special chamber thanks to our unique filter. Why not practise first… put a little water on a level surface such as the highchair tray or on a plate and see how easy it is to suck it all up.

The Baby nose-clear was a life-saver
by Craig, North Yorkshire

The Baby nose-clear was a life-saver in the first few months when our baby was too young to clear her nose herself. It definitely helped get her off to sleep. Many thanks.
Wow! Love it!
by Allie, USA

Wow! Love it! Wish I had it 12 months ago. He is much more tolerable of this than the aspirator we got in the hospital and its much faster.

I thought the nose clear was the best thing that I ever bought for my daughter, she sleeps through the night when her nose is clear and is so much happier. I recommend it to all moms, it's a must have.
