Easy to use, clean and reuse
The Baby nose-clear nasal aspirator can be used to ease congestion and breathing whenever needed. Paediatrician advice is to clear baby’s nose before a feed to help them feed more easily.

Wash before first use by opening the chamber and washing in warm soapy water. Ensure that the filter is completely dry before use. It may be helpful to blow through it to clear water.

You can use chemical sterilizing tablets or steam sterilizers in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Baby nose-clear is non-invasive and does not need to be sterilised, unless it is being used by more than one infant, in which case it should be sterilised between infants by your chosen method.

Easy To Use
Place the nozzle at the end of baby’s nostril (not inside) and suck through the mouthpiece to clear any visible mucus or blockage. The congestion will collect in the sealed chamber which is hygienically protected by a filter to prevent any chance of suck back.

Before using it on your baby it may be helpful to familiarize yourself with its use and how much suction you may need. We recommend that by taking some mayonnaise or yogurt and gently sucking, you can determine how much suction will be required.

The Carer has complete control by varying the level of continuous suction and by monitoring the process through the translucent plastic. The design of the device means that it is not possible to over suck or cause baby any harm.

Using the device should be a one handed operation, see picture below. This leaves a hand free to hold the baby securely.

If the mucus is particularly dry or sticky, it can be softened with saline prior to using the device. Saline drops can be prescribed or bought over the counter. They can be made at home by dissolving ˝ a teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of pre-boiled warm water.

The Baby nose-clear aspirator physically removes the mucus to clear your baby’s nose. To keep their nose clearer for longer you can use the Baby nose-clear Room Vapour from birth and from 3 months you can use the Baby nose-clear Massage Oil

The Device Won't Work
The nasal aspirator can only clear mucus that is visible at the entrance of the baby's nose. This works very easily when the mucus is wet or tacky, but when it gets very dry it can be difficult to remove and we suggest first softening the mucus with saline drops or spray.

The most common reason for the device not working is that the filter is wet. The nylon filter is very fine so that any water can block the very fine filter and prevent the air from passing through. Simply blow through it gently or use a hair drier to dry filter between uses. If this does not correct the problem check try sucking through the device without the filter to ensure that there is no blockage in the device that can be removed.
